Manufacturing and Process Development


Scott serves our clients in the areas of bioproduct research and development. Scott has over 20 years of biopharmaceutical experience at Eli Lilly and Co., Applied Molecular Evolution, Epicyte Pharmaceutical, Genencor International, and Merck and Co., Inc. Scott’s most recent title was Director of Process Sciences. Scott has directed and managed Purification, Analytical, Bioanalytical, and Formulation Development groups in his career. He is highly skilled in protein analytics and characterization tools including mass spectrometry, spectrophotometry, chromatography, and other biophysical methods. He has substantial knowledge and experience with antibodies, enzymes, peptides, protein chemistry, protein structure-function, protein stability, protein degradation pathways, and carbohydrate chemistry.

He has extensive experience in bioprocess development utilizing mammalian, microbial, fungal, and plant platforms. Scott has developed multiple processes and transferred them to clinical manufacturing settings both internally and to CMO’s. He also has broad experience with protein formulation, dosage form, and fill/finish operations. Scott also has experience in writing and reviewing CMC regulatory submissions. He has actively managed sizeable and strategically critical alliances throughout his career. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a M.S. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Georgia.
