Senior Consultant, Process and Manufacturing Development
Rob has thirty years experience in biotechnology working in the area of process development and implementation of processes into manufacturing. He has worked in the Purification Process Development Departments at Genentech, Amgen (Immunex) and Hoffmann LaRoche as well as several years of work as an independent consultant. He had a major role in the development of nine marketed products including cytokines, hormones, vaccines, blood factors and antibodies from recombinant and non- recombinant hosts. Rob can develop and implement processes into manufacturing, select equipment and write relevant sections for IND and NDA submissions. In addition to the work in purification processes development, Rob has worked in Pharmaceutical Sciences and contributed to the development of formulations for several marketed products. Work in this area includes the selection of components for sterile dosage forms and the minimization of particulate formation in protein solutions. Rob has a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in Biochemistry and a BS in chemistry from University of Pittsburgh.
