Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics
Dr. Williams is the lead partner in the scientific consulting organization, Trials by Design, LLC, and is a professor of pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences at the University of the Pacific. He received his PharmD from the University of the Pacific in 1974, his MS degree from the University of North Carolina in 1982, and completed a residency at the North Carolina Memorial Hospital in 1980. As a partner in Trials by Design, LLC, he participated in over 50 drug development projects, including study structure design, data analysis, population pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic modeling, report writing and represented clients at the Food and Drug Administration. He founded the therapeutic drug monitoring service at the University of Alabama Medical Center and was Director of Pharmaceutical Services at Shanta Bhawan Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal from 1976 to 1978. Dr. Williams is a thought leader in Pharmacometrics with over 18 years experience in population modeling and a combined 30 years experience in academia and drug development. He serves on the editorial board of The Annals of Pharmacotherapy and is the co-editor of the book Pharmacometrics: The Science of Quantitative Pharmacology. He is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and is the winner of the Faculty Research Award at the University of the Pacific.
