With more than 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry that includes scientific research, licensing, venture funding, and marketing, Leonie is a valuable asset to small and mid-size firms seeking to optimize their value through strategic planning and corporate partnerships. Her consulting experience includes licensing, marketing strategy, and portfolio planning for start-up’s and multinational firms. She began her career at Genentech where she worked in various scientific capacities and is a published first author in peer reviewed scientific journals. Most recently she established and led SciClone Pharmaceuticals’ first structured and targeted business development and strategic planning functions. In her capacity as Director, Business Development at SciClone she led licensing negotiations for SciClone’s domestic and international business units, and expanded SciClone’s portfolio through these activities. Her global marketing and transaction experience includes the US, Europe, and Asia. Leonie has an MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco, and BA in microbiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
