Leonie has advanced strategic initiatives for firms ranging in size from two person emerging companies to multinational companies in the areas of business development and licensing, global market strategy and portfolio planning in both an in-house and consulting capacity. She has more than 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry that includes scientific research, strategic marketing, corporate development and licensing, and venture funding, and began her career at Genentech where she worked in various scientific capacities and is a published first author in peer reviewed scientific journals.  She works closely with development teams to optimize the global value of development programs by addressing key business factors and incorporating those factors into development programs. She has established and headed business development departments, led business transactions for domestic and international business units.  Her global strategic planning, marketing and transaction experience includes the US, Europe, and Asia for early stage through top-tier pharmaceutical companies.  Leonie has an MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco, and a BA in microbiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
